About the Boys & Girls Club of Milford
Originally a part of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club, in 2010 the Milford Club became an independent 501 C-3 non-profit organization and currently serves over 300 member youth from the community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide, in a safe environment, programs that inspire, educate, guide and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
We are located in the West Shore Community Center on Benham Ave., in Milford and are proud to call Walnut Beach home for both the club and our signature event "Pumpkins on the Pier." Open throughout the school year from 2:00PM to 8:00PM, over 100 youth daily ranging in ages of 8 to 18, avail themselves of the club's programs. The cornerstone being homework assistance prior to a myriad of activities ranging from computer science to athletics, from art to drama, all under the direction of a dedicated staff of teachers and youth coordinators.
Additional information about the club and enrollment forms will soon be available at the club's primary website: www.bgcmilford.org (currently under construction).

Our Challenge
Success can be a double-edged sword. Each day, more and more children reach out for our services. Yet each year the fixed cost of offering quality programs to these children escalates.
The cost of one child participating in our program for an entire year is more than $1,000.00, yet we charge only $35.00 per season. Thanks to United Way, foundations, grants, fundraisers, and community support, we can make up some of the difference. But as the number of children served continues to grow, the goal becomes more difficult to obtain. That is why we have established "Pumpkins on the Pier", not only as a means to raise awareness of the Milford Boys & Girls club but to raise funds in a way that also gives back to the community that has been so good us. Please support the club by attending "Pumpkins on the Pier" or by making a donation at the club's site.
